After 2 previous attempts, I started seriously exploring and enjoying photography in 2012. Along the way, I discovered I love the whole process of creating images, especially black and white photographs that are often abstract, that highlight line and texture, dark and light.
In my architectural abstracts, I remove structures from their existing constructions and reveal their foundational beauty. Often, abstraction is also pivotal to my plant life/flower photos, since I focus on how nature layers its presence, allowing my vision to expand and soar with images that share the awe nature inspires in me.
In 2019, I won the California State Fair’s Award of Excellence for Adult: Black and White Architecture and the Juror’s Award for Adult: Black and White. The Fall 2020 issue of Under the Gum Tree featured a spread of my architectural abstract photos. In 2022, after a brief break from promoting my photography, I donated one of my prints to the local 2022 Stories on Stage Gala, and donated a print to both the Crocker Museum’s Big Names, Small Art (BNSA) Auction and its Silent Art Auction.
