Bench I; Manetti Shrem Museum. UC Davis, 06-20-18.
I am in love with the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at University of California, Davis, AKA the Manetti Shrem Museum. I first started photographing it during the summer of 2016, while it was in the final months of construction. In fact, the first time I photographed the Manetti Shrem was Saturday, 06-18-16. Every so often I return to photograph it (and to see the excellent exhibits). The museum courtyard’s play of always shifting light and shadow challenges me to capture the “decisive moment” when sunlight and shade and architectural structure dance harmoniously and joyously.
