TransBay Transit Facility & Clouds, SF
Monday, 02-19-18, I had the day off because it was President’s Day, so I drove down to San Francisco to take pictures in the business area. As I walked around the still unfinished Salesforce Tower/Transbay Transit Facility, I was impressed by the wrap around metal skin; I wanted to capture the astounding lightness of the metal “lace” (as I still think of it) at least once. That metal “lace” looked light yet dramatic to me; although it is light and airy, I saw the possibilities of visual drama and visceral contrast.
The Salesforce Tower/Transbay Transit Terminal was still under construction, but I walked around it enough, while making sure I did not cross the yellow tape that demarcated “danger zones,” to capture several photos. This is my favorite photo from that afternoon.
